Headspace Sensors
Headspace sensors are important for monitoring conditions in the air volume at the top of the silo or bin to provide critical early warnings against spoilage and moisture damage. They measure temperature, relative humidity, dewpoint and if needed CO2 levels. We offer two distinct types of headspace sensors to suit your specific monitoring needs.
To detect in advance any possible problems related to the level of CO2 and humidity
HS2000: temperature and relative humidity to control roof fans
The HS2000, our new headspace sensor, measures temperature and relative humidity and is crucial for detecting and preventing damage from condensation. When night falls, the temperature drops swiftly, causing the metal silo roof to cool faster than the air in the headspace, which can lead to large quantities of water condensing on the roof and resulting in damaging "rain" inside the silo. The HS2000 senses this rapid development in advance and sends warnings, allowing you to react by opening ducts or activating the aeration system.
This sensor is designed to be paired with our new Roof Fan Aeration Control in AgroLog Manager and the AGW gateway, enabling users to automatically control roof fans to protect their grain by activating them when headspace temperature or humidity is too high, or when outside air conditions are safe relative to the dewpoint. This smarter aeration control reduces spoilage and simplifies silo management for everyday farming.
HS3000: CO2 levels
The HS3000 provides comprehensive monitoring by measuring CO2 levels, a crucial value because it serves as the earliest warning sign of microorganisms that might spoil your stored crops. When microorganisms consume the sugar in the grain, they produce large quantities of CO2. The headspace sensor captures this increase and sends warnings, which is important to prevent damages since CO2 development happens long before the temperature begins to increase. Therefore, a sensor capable of detecting the increase in the level of CO2 before it turns into a temperature increase is fundamental.

Headspace Sensor in AgroLog Manager
The Headspace Sensor (HS), fully integrated with AgroLog Manager software, provides advanced protection for your stored crops:
Multi-Measurement: Real-time, high-quality readings of CO2, Temperature, EMC, Dewpoint, and Relative Humidity in the headspace.
CO2 Monitoring: Detects levels from 0 to 10000 ppm, serving as an early warning system for the presence of harmful microorganisms that may spoil your crops.
Condensation Prevention: Recognizes swift temperature drops that may lead to harmful condensation, sending alerts to prevent "rain" inside the silo.
Full Integration: Seamlessly works with AgroLog Manager software, allowing you to react promptly to any changes.
Get warnings early: Set thresholds to receive alerts when CO2 levels fall outside of a safe range, enabling you to quickly address any issues that arise before any damage has been done.
With the Headspace Sensor and AgroLog Manager, protect your stored crops from spoilage and maximize your yield with early warnings and timely interventions.
